Wedding and Christening cake for Sophie and James

Posted: 30th Nov 2016

One of the biggest rewards of our job, is when our lovely customers share photos with us of their cakes in action.

This week we are very excited to share with you photos not just from the wedding day but also from another very special day – the Christening.

Sophie and James planned their beautiful December wedding at  Northbrook Park, near Farnham, Surrey from Australia. Despite living on the other side of the world, they still managed to fit in a cake tasting during a brief visit to the U.K earlier in the year.  We were commissioned to make them a three-tier wedding cake. They chose a bottom tier of chocolate biscuit cake, a lemon middle tier and a fruit top tier which they wanted to keep.

After the wedding, they sent us a lovely email:

“Thank you for making our beautiful wedding cake. It looked stunning and tasted delicious. Other than the fruit layer (that we have saved) and a small section of the chocolate layer, it was all eaten on the day proving how tasty it was! Luckily we managed to get through the rest of the chocolate layer before we had to fly back to Australia :-).

The flowers were incredible – everyone was saying how beautifully made it was.

Thank you so much again. We will definitely be in touch in the future when we need cake!”

Well three years later, they were back in touch, as they wanted a Christening cake for their newborn son and wanted to use the fruit top tier from their wedding cake.  As you will see from the photos we recovered and decorated the cake for Archie’s Christening.
