Christening and wedding cake

Another lovely Final Touch story to share with you. In 2014 we made a classic 5-tier wedding cake decorated with sugar police helmets.  No surprises for guessing the occupation of the bride and groom! The cake featured the couple’s initials on the top tier and was made up of chocolate biscuit cake and sponge layers filled with Grand Marnier and strawberries and a fruit top tier.
After the wedding, we received a charming email thanking us for the cake.
“Just a quick note to say thank you for making such a fabulous wedding cake for Emily & Darren – they were both absolutely thrilled with it”
Fast forward three years and the top tier of the cake had been frozen – beautifully preserved – we were asked to make it into a Christening cake for their daughter. We recovered the cake and made a Victoria sponge tier with a pink champagne truffle filling for the fruit cake to sit on.
